The purpose of the Office of Emergency Management is to assist the Borough government and residents by helping them prepare for, cope with and recover from the effects of natural and manmade disasters. The scope of emergency management includes all activities in the emergency management cycle, including prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery phases.

ReadyBucks is the County and Borough's mass notification system. It is used to send out emergency alerts as well as other important community information. This might be information on severe weather warnings or as simple as a notification of a street closing.
