Fireworks - Zero Tolerance

Hulmeville Borough is joining forces with local municipalities in being a zero tolerance community. Although consumer fireworks are legal in Pennsylvania, the rules for their use essentially prohibits their use anywhere in Hulmeville Borough.

Wolf Administration Announces New COVID-19 Guidelines - Issued 11/17/20

In response to the resurgence of the coronavirus, Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, announced new guidelines which impact the healthcare system, persons traveling to the state, a strengthened order regarding wearing masks, and recommendations for colleges and universities.

REMINDER! Notice of parking ordinance restricting parking during snow conditions

At its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening, June 6, 2016, the Hulmeville Borough Council enacted an ordinance prohibiting parking on Borough streets during a snow storm.

Pennsylvania Fireworks Guidlines

Snakehead fish reported in Hulmeville waters

There have been reports of Snakehead fish in Hulmeville fishing waters. This is an invasive breed of fish that threatens the local fish species. Read the bulletin from the USGS on what to do if you catch a Snakehead fish.

ACT 537 Plan Update

Act 537 (the Pennsylvania Sewage Facilities Act) requires Hulmeville Borough to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive official sewage management plan. In order to meet the Department of Environmental (DEP) required timelines for updating the Act 537 Plan, a series of meetings are planned by the Hulmeville Borough Council and Water Authority to prepare and adopt an up-to-date Plan. The public is welcome to attend the meetings and provide input.

Updated Flood Plain Regulations

On March 16, 2015, the Borough Council adopted Borough Ordinance 265, updating section 27-703 of the Borough Ordinances. Section 27-703 covers regulations applicable to floodplain areas. The updating of the Borough's floodplain regulations brings the Borough into compliance with current federal regulations.

Leash and Curb Your Dog

The police department would like to remind everyone that all dogs must be on a leash at all times (unless in a securely fenced area). Any dog found roaming unleashed will be immediately impounded. Also, it is required that you pick up any waste deposited by your dog.

Vehicle Parking

By Borough Ordinance, vehicles are not allowed to be parked on lawns, either in front, behind or either side of a house. All vehicles must be parked in a driveway or legally parked on a roadway.
